Over $11,000 raised for new Care Center

Sanford Mid-Dakota Medical Center held its 6th Annual Holiday Extravaganza Nov. 20 at Cedar Shore. With the support of many individuals and area businesses, over $11,000 was raised with all proceeds going for furnishings for the new Care Center.

The new building will be a modern, comfortable place where people will feel at home. Plans call for 32 rooms in five different room configurations for 44 residents. Privacy, individual care, attention to providing respect and dignity, and a home-like atmosphere will be prevalent in the new facility. And most importantly, it will be connected to the hospital to improve resident’s access to medical care.

As seen in the photo, construction crews have been busy doing dirt work. The building is expected to open late 2010.
Donations for the new facility are still being taken. To find out how you can help with this important project for the elderly in our communities, call Gloria Priebe at 605-234-7217
