Physician specializes in OB/GYN services for women
Sanford Mid-Dakota Medical Center is proud to announce that Dr. Sophie Dojacques has joined its staff as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist.
Dr. Dojacques is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Dojacques comes to Sanford Mid-Dakota most recently from Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas. She is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and completed her internship and residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital.
She has a great compassion for animals and humanity and founded the Silver Creek Animal Sanctuary. She also does a lot of charity work. In her spare time, Dr. Dojacques enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Rameses and Jean Michel. She enjoys organic gardening, cooking, reading, hiking and camping, yoga, writing and traveling.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Dojacques coming to practice in Chamberlain,” said Maureen Cadwell, CEO of Sanford Mid-Dakota Medical Center. “Her outgoing personality and medical qualifications are a great asset to our facility.”
Dr. Dojacques works with Dr. Karl Beesch to provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for normal and cesarean deliveries at Sanford Mid-Dakota Hospital in Chamberlain.
“Time can be critical when a baby is on the way,” said Dr. Dojacques. “Sanford Mid-Dakota has highly trained staff in their labor and delivery room. They are available 24/7 and can provide complete pain medication at any time of the day or night.”
Every new parent hopes for a healthy full-term baby, but if there are problems or your baby arrives too early, Sanford Mid-Dakota’s affiliation with Sanford Health in Sioux Falls and the NICU at Sanford Children’s Hospital offers parents access to the best care for their baby. One of the things that impresses Dr. Dojacques is the fact that Sanford Mid-Dakota makes sure that all babies go home in a safe infant car seat and that parents know how to properly install it. If patients cannot afford one and meet income guidelines, they are provided with a free car seat. This team of OB/GYN professionals also provides complete gynecology services for pap smears, birth control, menstrual problems, tubal ligations, infertility and menopause management.
Dr. Dojacques travels to Fort Thompson on alternate Wednesdays to provide care for all women of all ages. To make an appointment to see her in Fort Thompson, call 245-2285. Patients may also make an appointment to see Dr. Dojacques in Chamberlain by calling 234-6551.
