Sanford Mid-Dakota Hospital recently acquired the revolutionary ACUSON S2000™ ultrasound system from Siemens Healthcare. This multi-functional system will provide Mid-Dakota’s physicians with the ability to use ultrasound to increase exam efficiency and dramatically improve diagnostic confidence.
“Our new ultrasound system truly expands our diagnostic insight here in our busy department,” said Tom Davis, Director of Diagnostic Imaging at Sanford Mid-Dakota Hospital”. “The advanced technologies significantly enhance ultrasound image quality and the never-before-seen detail translates into more confident results for all of our patients.”
Using superior features and innovative applications, unprecedented image quality is achievable for virtually any patient, even those who are difficult to image. Now, general and OB/GYN images are more precise than ever before.
A few highlights of the system include both 3D imaging and increased sensitivity in vascular imaging. This system now allows us to provide in-house screening, diagnoses and treatment of arterial diseases such as Peripheral Arterial disease (PAD), stroke risk factors, and venous diseases such as Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), and insufficiency.
“Of particular significance for expectant mothers, this system creates the most photo-realistic fetal ultrasound images ever produced,” said Mary Thomas, Chief Ultrasound Tech. “For general imaging purposes, the versatility and imaging capabilities of this system help to create a more comfortable and time-efficient exam for our patients,” stated Cindy Myers, Ultrasound Tech.
This equipment significantly enhances our existing program and with the recent addition of a vascular clinic every month, the availability of new services to our community continues to grow, which is great for our patients,” said Jess Sharping, Ultrasound and Vascular Tech.
